Saturday, after work, we went to sleep. Not too exciting but muchly needed.
Sunday, we went to mommy and daddy's house for Fathers Day. There were 15 people there. The food was nummy and I got to see my little chica. My love her. My brother, however, was in a foul mood. Home boy needed a nap!
On the way home we got a phone call from one of our friends asking us to meet them at Jet Setters. I was in the far left lane of Congress and 10th Ave going **** I need to turn right, right now! Heh. Needless to say, we got there safely. They had a couple of surf bands and a fire dancer. Some guy was taking a picture of the fire dancer and he looks at me and says "I'm almost embarrassed to be taking these picture's." I said "Here, give the camera to me. I'll do it." He did not give me his camera. LOL! I have pictures up in the album called Jet Setters cuz I'm creative like that. Heh. That was a fun night.
Monday, I met my mommy at IHOP. She had the baby with her. Had breakfast, went to the mall. Bought stuff for my nephews birthday. One of the things we bought him was a a cakelet pan called Backyard Bugs. It was from Williams-Sonoma. It is a cake pan with the little cakes shaped like bugs. It is so cute!!! A couple of weeks ago, my hubby bought me one in the shape of a sand castle.
I went to Costcos and Publix. Hubby came home. We went to The Red Parrot. I bought some Avon off of the bartender there. Had yummy nummy Chinese food from next door. Plans for bowling got cancled. Went home and a couple of our friends came over. We all Watched Casino Royal. It was groovy. Passed out!
The end!
So I was trying to sing Stone Roses I Want to be Adored last night, at Unity, and someone thought I said "I want to be a door" Then they started opening and closing me like I was a door. It was a strange night but lots of fun! Speaking of Door, she happens to be one of my favorite characters of all time. She is from Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman.
Neverwhere is an urban fantasy television series by Neil Gaiman. The series is set in 'London Below', a magical realm coexisting with the London familiar to all. It was devised by Neil Gaiman and Lenny Henry, and directed by Dewi Humphreys. The idea for the story came from a conversation between Gaiman and Henry about a possible television series. Henry suggested a story with tribes of homeless people in London. Gaiman (while initially reluctant to commit, as he feared that making the homeless appear "cool" would cause more young people to attempt to emulate the characters) expanded it from there.[1] Neil Gaiman later adapted the story into a novel.
Just watched the movie Brick. It was pretty good and the characters actually reminded me of people I knew in high school. heh.
Plot summary for
Brick (2005)
In a modern-day Southern California neighborhood and high school, student Brendan Frye's piercing intelligence spares no one. He's not afraid to back up his words with actions, and knows all the angles; yet he prefers to stay an outsider, and does - until the day that his ex-girlfriend, Emily, reaches out to him unexpectedly and then vanishes. His feelings for her still run deep; so much so, that he becomes consumed with finding his troubled inamorata. To find her, he enlists the aid of his only true peer, the Brain, while keeping the assistant vice principal only occasionally informed of what quickly becomes a dangerous investigation. Brendan's single-minded unearthing of students' secrets thrusts him headlong into the colliding social orbits of rich-girl sophisticate Laura, intimidating Tugger, substance-abusing Dode, seductive Kara, jock Brad and - most ominously - non-student the Pin. Only by gaining acceptance into the Pin's closely guarded inner circle of crime and punishment that Brendan will be able to uncover hard truths about himself, Emily and the suspects that he is getting closer to. The first day we just wandered around the boat. I took random picture's of things. We had to do the "fire drill" that is mandatory before every cruise. We had dinner in the dinning room. Second seating. Our dinner mates was a nice couple from Georgia.
The second day the boat, Mariner of the Seas, stopped at Cococay, Bahamas. It was a day at the beach. We decided to stay on the ship since we live in Florida and can go to the beach any day. I got a seaweed wrap and deep tissue massage from the spa. They wrapped me in a seaweed mixture that was warm and wrapped me up in something that looked like tin foil. Then she messaged my head. Told me to take a shower. She rubbed some kind of muscle relaxing oil on me and wrapped me up in tin foil again and messaged my feet. Took another shower. Finally she gave me a deep tissue message on my back and shoulders. It was heaven.
We skipped dinner in the dinning room because it was formal attire. I think we ate at Johnny Rockets that night.
Day three, we were at sea. We played in the casino for a while and we played Win-A-Cruise Bingo. I never knew how brutal a game of Bingo could be. Needless to say, we lost. :(
Day four, we landed on ST. Thomas U.S.V.I. We took the tour of Black Beards Castle. Then walked down 99 Steps and took a tour of the Governor's House and the tour stopped at a rum factory. heh.
Had lunch on the island at Cuzzins. Slow service, good food. We did some shopping. Meet another, older, couple. All four of us walked the two and a half miles back to the ship. Had dinner in the dinning room.
Day five, We landed at Philipsburg, ST. Maarten. Took a bus to ST. Martin (the French side of the island. Half the island is owned by the Dutch and the other half is owned by the French.) We did the Treetop Adventure Tour. "This thrilling excursion suspends you high above ST. Martin's private forest reserve where you'll soar between majestic 200 year old mango and mahogany trees. The exhilarating traverse adventure course, consisting of a sequence of zip-lines, rope swings and bridges suspended from platforms mounted in the trees of the forest, will leave you in a state of euphoria." or if you are me, it will leave you terrified. LOL. I picked this adventure to get over my fear of heights and fear of falling. It was freaking awesome!!! I loved it. I wish there was a course here so I could do it instead of going to a gym.
Did some more shopping. Got back on the Mariner of the Seas. I think we ate at the Wind Jammer that night.
Day six, we were at sea. We watched a belly flopping contest and horse races. We had tickets for the ice show but totally missed it. I know we ate at the Wind Jammer that night.
Day seven, we got up early and relaxed in the hot tub. Had breakfast at the Wind Jammer. Took a swing dance class in the Dragon's Lair. They had a trivia game going on that we played in. We didn't win. :( Watched the guy who does the ice carvings on the ship. He transformed a huge block of ice into a swan in under 10 minutes. That was pretty cool. Hubby played another round of Bingo. We went to the Farewell Variety Show starring the comedy of Don Barnhart. He was so funny!!! If you get a chance to see him, he is awesome. They also had the gentleman juggler, Kristian Kristof, who was very good too. Had dinner in the dinning room and said our good-byes. Plus we had to grab our bottles of wine. I got Conundrum 2005 California White Table Wine. It is most excellent.
Sunday, we were back on I-95 heading home. It was a lot of fun but of course it went by way too fast.
Huge props go out to Wiredforerror for watching the doggies and the fishies. Our Angel fish spawned while we were away. Hubby put the babies in a little tank. I hope some of them survive.
Scorpio actor Leonardo DiCaprio is not a big fan of locking lips. "When you think about it, kissing is pretty disgusting," he told Britain's Eva magazine. "The human mouth is one of the dirtiest things on this planet. There's so much bacteria, slime, and trapped food." I hope that you will not only ignore DiCaprio's opinion in the coming months, but that you will launch a campaign to increase your commitment to kissing and all related pursuits. In my opinion, the potentials inherent in 2007 should inspire you to raise your mastery of the oral arts to a very high level. And it starts now.

world's astronomers voted to demote Pluto from a planet to a "dwarf
planet." Some Scorpios were alarmed, since Pluto is the heavenly body
that traditionally rules your sign. My opinion? Don't worry. I agree with
mythologist Roxanna Bikadoroff, who says there's poetic justice in calling
Pluto a dwarf planet. In fairy tales, dwarves are often magicians who
possess hidden storehouses of riches and act as agents of creative
transformation. They typically live beneath bridges, which are symbols of
transitional thresholds, and are masters of in-between states. They
bestow blessings on anyone who is able to pass their demanding tests.
This is an apt symbolic description of you at your most potent, which I
expect you to be during the coming weeks.
Saturday I went to work. Came home and went to bed. We were supposed to go to a birthday party but I think there was a lot of miscommunication and a broken printer. Or something like that....
Sunday we bummed around the house all day. I got to page 179 of the new Laurell K. Hamilton book: Danse Macabre. This book is so much better than the last piece of crap she put out. Yay!!! Sunday night, we went to the Parrot and threw darts. My mom and dad had bought me a new dart set. These darts are 16 ounces. I like them. They are nifty.
Monday, I went down to meet Nyssa at the hair salon. She said she needed a model. I thought that the salon would be open and that it was a normal day. I get there and some lady unlocks the door for me. Ushers me inside and locks the door again. We go over to where Nyssa was. There was only me, Nyssa, and these two ladys with pens and note pads. They followed us around scribbling notes the entire time. It made me nervous. I don't know how Nyssa could stand it. She was "taking a test" to see if she could start cutting hair there. She did a marvelous job on my hair. Wish I had a picture to show you cuz she also did my make-up and it looked good. I got home that night and my husband kept calling me beautiful all night long. LOL! I need Nyssa to do my hair and make-up more often!!!! We don't know when she finds out if she gets the job or not. I asked her to call me.
I did a little shopping. I wanted to buy the box set for Full Metal Alchemist but it's not out yet. Disk number 12 isn't out either. It is getting so good. I am dieing to see the next episode!!! I bought V for Vendetta instead.
Went over to Nyssa house, for a couple of hours, to hang out. Went over to my parents house and found my Magic the Gathering cards. Now we can get a game going. :) I also got to see my niece. She is the cutest thing ever!!!!! They had Sesame Street on and I got to see R.E.M. singing Happy Fury Monsters to the tune of Shiney Happy People. It was funny!!! Got dinner and brought it home to the hubby. We watched Hells Kitchen. The girl, who I wanted to win, won. I was so happy. She deserved it. She was awesome!!! Then we watched V for Vendetta. It was a pretty good movie but I did not think it was all that. I also had a huge problem with Natalie Portmans character just rolling over and taking everything that was shoved her way. I don't want to say too much cuz I don't want to spoil it for anyone else but I wasn't that impressed with it. *shrug*
OK, so yesterday I got up and finished up the laundry, vacuumed, made banana nut bread (which came out absolutely fantastic), cleaned the kitchen, walked the doggies, cleaned off the counter, and turned the vents in the bedroom straight out. It's always hot in the bedroom. Somehow the blades, on the vent for the air conditioner, were facing the wall. It was much cooler in the room last night. Then I went to work.
Monday I got up early and went to the doctors for the sonogram. They said they did not see a septum at all but that doesn't mean that there isn't one there. They want me to get an X-Ray done that will be more conclusive. Went home. Did some laundry. Went to the store and got some soil to plant that flower in. The flower that I picked out of the backyard and posted photo's of, it grew roots like you wouldn't believe. I planted it in a cute little clay pot that has lizards on it. Met husband at The Red Parrot. I drove by Don Ramons and got us some cuban food on the way home. Nummy.
Sunday I found out that I don't live in Alta Lago. A friend of mine was in the area and want to stop by to say hi and chill out for a while. I gave him directions. He said there was no Alta Lago. He said he did see a Vista Lago and asked if I lived there. I said Hell no but apparently I was wrong. He drove me by the new sign so I could see for myself. Sure enough, there was a name change. Nobody told us. *shakes head* He left and I went grocery shopping. I don't think we did much of anything after that. Maybe watched some TV.
Saturday I got up and went out to get breakfast for the husband and I. Went to work.
Friday night was spent at the club. I got to see
wiredforerror whom I haven't seen for 10 years. He had been living in Chicago and Texas. Not at the same time, mind you. Also
jeweldevil was down from Orlando mang.***Mr.Devil, when are we doing breakfast? ARe you going to the club tonight? Call me. *** I had a ton of fun Friday night. It was awesome.
